Merola Opera Program is one of the nation’s oldest and most revered Opera training programs in the United States.  It is independent of, but works in close collaboration with, San Francisco Opera.  Based in San Francisco’s Civic Center, this position is centrally located to transportation and other cultural activities.    

Primary responsibilities include 1) supporting patron needs; 2) providing oversight and fulfillment of donor benefits; 3) providing key support for individual, foundation, and corporate contributions and sponsorships.  This position is responsible for gift processing and the database integrity of donor information.  Additionally, this position supports the Board of Directors and its committees, as well as providing front-of-house management at public performances.  Other duties, as assigned.



  • Experience with Salesforce Customer Relations Management (CRM) system
  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university or two years’ experience in performing arts administrative, computer, and fundraising work.
  • Skill in using Microsoft Office including Outlook, Word and Excel.
  • Excellent organizational, writing, verbal and interpersonal skills.
  • Employee must be a detail-oriented self-starter able to work with minimal supervision and interact in a professional, courteous and tactful manner with staff, donors and Board members.
  • Ability to maintain several projects of equal priority at once and sustain productivity and accuracy under pressure.
  • Ability to lift 25 lbs.
