Director, Equity Research Analyst – MetLife Investment Management (MIM)

As a Director, Equity Research Analyst, you will serve as a senior contributor within our active equity platform, leading coverage of assigned sectors and generating high-conviction investment ideas. You will partner closely with portfolio managers to shape portfolio positioning and deliver risk-aware, return-focused outcomes.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead fundamental analysis of industries and companies within the Consumer sector.
• Generate and present high-conviction investment recommendations.
• Monitor portfolio exposures and recommend positioning adjustments.
• Identify opportunities through continuous screening of the investment universe.
• Engage with company management teams, brokers, and industry experts.
• Actively cover 20–40 securities, with additional secondary coverage.
• Contribute to client-facing materials and communicate investment strategy and performance.
• This role offers strong visibility across the investment process—from idea generation through portfolio implementation—in a collaborative, performance-driven environment that values independent thinking and long-term stewardship of capital.

Requirements

Required:

• 5-10 years of fundamental research experience and possess an MBA and/or CFA designation.
• Knowledge of the small and SMID cap equity universe along with the ability to identify strong potential investment candidates is essential.
• Strong communication skills, both verbal and written are necessary.
• The ability and desire to work in a high-performance atmosphere employing a team-oriented philosophy is critical 

Preferred: 

• Experience analyzing companies in Consumer sector with a demonstrated record of success is preferred.
• Incremental experience covering other sectors with a demonstrated record of success will be considered.
