IAT Insurance Group has an immediate opening for an Agency Manager (aka Relationship Manager) to work from an IAT office in Overland Park or Kansas City. The position's primary responsibility is to assist in developing strong working relationships with our agency partners and internal functional areas for the Commercial Transportation business unit. In addition, developing and maintaining management reports providing analysis of production goal achievements. There is an option for this role to be located in other IAT locations for the right candidate.


  • Assist in initial vetting of the potential agency partner, and where appropriate escalate the opportunity to management.
  • Shepherd new appointments by coordinating with ACL to get agreements completed and set up in the systems in an efficient and timely manner.
  • Ensure effective onboarding installation for newly appointed agency partners, including underwriting coordination, submission procedures, and any ongoing support agency requires.
  • Manage existing agencies by distributing agency production reports monthly or quarterly to maximize production and drive brand awareness.
  • Coordinate with underwriting to facilitate and participate in quarterly or semi-annual conference calls or in-person agency visits with existing partners and underwriting if necessary. The purpose of these calls will be to address new business submissions, renewals, processes and address any issues to ensure success and improve relationships.
  • Engage appropriate parties to evaluate the effectiveness and develop a streamlined approach to alleviate pains for the agency partners.
  • Facilitate communication among the participants and ensure issues are resolved. 
  • Establish and coordinate communications, mailings, and updated content for commercial transportation.
  • Work closely with segment leads and commercial transportation agency partners to identify ways to continuously improve the processed, resulting in improved customer service.
  • Maintain and ensure agency user and contact lists are up to date.
  • Maintenance and upkeep of portal content in addition to coordinating with IT on any service items.
  • Serve as an escalation point for both internal and external clients.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.



  • Bachelors' degree, 5 years of industry experience with a strong preference for on marketing, distribution or underwriting experience from a carrier, MGA, or wholesaler.
  • Equivalent is 9 years of industry experience.
  • Ability to self-motivate and drive to succeed, prior experience of demonstrated goal achievement required.
  • Ability to build meaningful relationships with Agency.
  • Strong Microsoft Office skills.
  • Up to 20% travel.
