Description
SummaryLead One of Kansas City's Premier Dining Destinations
At The Town Company, every detail is intentional. Located inside the iconic Hotel Kansas City, our nationally recognized restaurant blends live-fire cooking, elevated hospitality, and unmistakable Kansas City character in a setting that feels both timeless and effortlessly stylish.
We're seeking an exceptional Restaurant Manager to join our leadership team and help shape one of the city's most distinctive dining experiences. This is more than a management position-it's an opportunity to lead within a celebrated restaurant, a luxury hotel, and the global Hyatt family.
We're looking for a leader who is highly visible, passionate about hospitality, and energized by developing people. Someone who thrives on the restaurant floor, builds trust through coaching, leads with confidence during busy services, and inspires a team to deliver experiences that are polished, personal, and memorable.
What You'll Do
As Restaurant Manager, you'll oversee the daily front-of-house operation while setting the tone for service excellence and team culture. You'll lead by example, ensuring every guest interaction reflects the standards that make The Town Company a destination restaurant.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Leading daily restaurant operations, ensuring smooth service execution, strong communication, and exceptional attention to detail.
- Maintaining an active presence on the dining room floor by coaching colleagues, supporting service, engaging with guests, and responding to operational needs in real time.
- Creating memorable guest experiences by anticipating needs, building relationships with repeat guests, and resolving concerns with professionalism and genuine care.
- Recruiting, training, coaching, and developing a high-performing front-of-house team while fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
- Partnering with Culinary and Beverage leadership to ensure colleagues confidently represent our menus, wines, cocktails, and seasonal offerings.
- Managing scheduling, labor, productivity, and operating costs while supporting revenue growth and overall restaurant performance.
- Monitoring guest feedback, online reputation, and service trends to continuously elevate the dining experience.
- Collaborating with hotel departments to ensure seamless service for restaurant guests, hotel guests, private events, and VIP experiences.
Who You Are
You're the kind of leader who believes great hospitality starts with great people. You enjoy mentoring others, making thoughtful decisions under pressure, and creating an environment where both guests and colleagues feel genuinely cared for.
The ideal candidate is:
- A visible, hands-on leader who enjoys being on the floor and leading through action.
- Passionate about delivering refined yet approachable hospitality.
- An exceptional communicator who builds strong relationships with guests, colleagues, and cross-functional partners.
- Calm, adaptable, and confident in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.
- Business-minded, with an understanding of labor management, profitability, and operational performance.
- Curious about food, wine, cocktails, and creating exceptional dining experiences.
Qualifications
What You'll Bring
- Three or more years of progressive restaurant, food and beverage, or hospitality leadership experience.
- Experience leading front-of-house teams through hiring, scheduling, coaching, and performance development.
- Experience in an upscale casual, chef-driven, luxury hotel, or other high-touch dining environment preferred.
- Strong knowledge of restaurant operations, guest service, food and beverage, and service recovery.
- Wine and beverage knowledge and a passion for hospitality are highly valued.
